(as Ribonucleic Acid)
RNA (Ribonucleic acid) by definition is: a polymeric constituent of all living cells and many viruses, consisting of a long, usually single-stranded chain of alternating phosphate and ribose units with the bases adenine, guanine, cytosine, and uracil bonded to the ribose. The structure and base sequence of RNA are determinants of protein synthesis and the transmission of genetic information. It is a single-stranded nucleic acid similar to DNA but having ribose sugar rather than deoxyribose sugar and uracil rather than thymine as one of the pyrimidine bases.
Our RNA that is sourced from Brewer’s Yeast is Gluten Free.
But due to the many sources of Brewer’s Yeast, some that are Gluten Free and most that are not, we have removed ALL doubt and by removing RNA completely from Sport Formula.
The (sometimes) exception to yeast being gluten-free, is with true brewer’s yeast, which is a by-product of beer and thus not considered gluten-free. To make things a little more complicated, however, there are some “brewer’s yeast” brands that are grown on another medium, such as sugar beets, so these products may be gluten-free.
